Perfectionism Group

Perfectionism can feel like a strength, but for many people it comes with significant costs: chronic stress, self-criticism, avoidance, burnout, and difficulty feeling satisfied even when goals are met. This group is designed for individuals who find themselves stuck in rigid standards, fear of mistakes, or a constant sense of “not enough,” despite working hard and caring deeply about doing well.

In the group, participants explore the difference between perfectionism and healthy, flexible high standards. Together, we examine how perfectionistic patterns develop, what they cost over time, and how they can interfere with progress, relationships, and well-being. The focus is not on lowering expectations, but on helping participants achieve meaningful results without paying unnecessary emotional costs.

Drawing on principles from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), the group emphasizes increasing awareness of unhelpful thinking patterns, building psychological flexibility, and clarifying personal values. Participants learn to take goal-directed action that is aligned with what matters most to them, even in the presence of discomfort, uncertainty, or imperfection.

The group provides a supportive and structured space to practice new ways of relating to achievement, mistakes, and self-evaluation, helping participants move toward a more balanced, effective, and values-driven approach to their lives.
