We offer Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills training groups for adults and families (teens and parents). Groups meet weekly for 90 minutes and follow a structured yet interactive format that combines learning, discussion, and skills practice. Each session includes mindfulness practice, review, and the introduction of new skills focused on managing emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships.
Our groups run during the day, after school, and in the evening, typically with six to ten individuals or three to five families. Adult groups include four skills modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Effectiveness. Adolescent and family groups include a fifth, Walking the Middle Path, which focuses on enhancing parent-teen relationships.
Parent groups draw on skills from all modules to help caregivers understand their children’s struggles and their own emotional experiences. Parents learn to manage stress, communicate more effectively, and support their children’s growth. Skills are practiced both in session and in daily life, helping participants use what they learn when it matters most.
